Education and training
UDBN has since 2003 acquired experience and expertise in biobanking not only for genetics but also for proteomics and metabolomics. Because its infrastructure is a project located within an academic department (the Centre for Integrated Genomic Medical Research) at The University of Manchester, it has undertaken training for UK and overseas scientists and it has developed a short intensive introductory course to biobanking.

The courses are organised jointly with CIGMR, NowGen, the Manchester Cancer Research Centre Biobank and Astra Zeneca.
